We are all attracted to Asian Dramas in someway or the other. We fantasize them in real life too. But there are some dramas that are game-changers in real life. Out of many, the one that touched my heart was a Japanese Drama that was based on a real life incident.

1 Litre Of Tears (1 Litre No Namida)

a Japanese Television Drama that was aired in the year 2005. It was based on a true story of Aya Kito, a 15 year old japanese girl, who suffered from Spinocerebellar Ataxia , a degenerative disease that made her life both physically and mentally painful ending her life in the most early stages of one’s life. During her suffering, she noted everything she can in her diary which was later published as a book. Her story was also adopted into a Japanese Drama. Let’s see about it.

We all complain about our life that God gave us, forgetting to cherish each and every moment when we are alive. Ikeuchi Aya, the protagonist of the drama is the character that suffers from this deadly disease. She was healthy like every other child until she aged 15, she was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Degeneration. Making her life immobile, she experienced sufferings in the age of 15, the period where one’s life is filled with fantasies. She was in a situation to leave her basketball team. Unable to attend a normal high school, she was sent to a school for the handicapped or physically challenged. Her goal in life is to help others, but had only people helping her in her daily life.

Apart from this the person that she was blessed with is her mother(of course all of us are blessed with a mother), who without any little amount of hesitation devoted herself for supporting Aya whenever she was heartbroken.

Apart from her mother, her family with father, 2 sisters and a brother were also the most precious family members that one can have, supporting her in all means. Her friends are of another world, giving the exact meaning of what friendship means. Though Aya had a tearful life, the people around her and her passion for writing is what made her alive every moment. Aya died when we was 25 years old leaving her impressions in her diary full of inspirations.

After I saw this drama, the one thing that I felt was, until now I was not living my life how I was meant to. And then I started realizing that every single moment is precious and should live life to the fullest.
